Contractor Conduct

You work hard. Time is money. Have you ever wondered why you don't land more jobs? Below is things to keep in mind when dealing with a potentially new customers.

First Impression do count.
- If you smoke, don't do it in front of the customer. If you smell like an ash tray, if at all possible, change your clothes prior to showing up for the estimate. BE ON TIME!

Manners do count.
- If you tell a customer you will be there at 3pm, and it looks like you won't be there until 3:30pm, call well in advance. A customer may perceive your tardines as a reflection of your business practices.

More manners.
- Treat the customer with respect. Avoid talking down to them, greet them properly, show respect for their property, make eye contact. Small talk breaks down barriers. Let the customer speak. Land the job.

Give me all of the reasons to hire you up front.
- Don't make customers ask for valid insurance, recent references, proof of workman's comp, etc. Consumers are getting smarter, and people are more likely to work with people they trust. By being up front, and providing customers with all of the information that is important to them, it really speaks volumes about your business practices.
